How can I Volunteer?

To be a session volunteer, you don’t need to be a qualified youth leader to be a volunteer, and you don’t need to have had any youth work experience either. We are looking for people who are able to nurture, encourage and talk to our young people. It's up to you as to how much involvement you would like to have during sessions. You can hang around the kettle making hot chocolate, or be out in the Courtyard playing Four Square and Basketball.

By signing up to be a volunteer, you don't have to commit to every week. Most volunteers are on the rota for every fortnight, or once a month.  Some weeks you may be happy to lead a session, whereas other weeks you may just want to be responsible for one of the activities, or alternatively, just be a pair of eyes and ears to support our young people as and when they need it.

If you’re interested in volunteering, fill in our application form – and we will be in touch.

If you decide to volunteer with us, we will support you with the training you need to feel confident to volunteer at our sessions. Before every session we have a team briefing, this allows all volunteers and staff to ask any questions, and for the Youth Worker to delegate any tasks for the evening. This is also a good opportunity to discuss which role you would like to fulfil that night.
