As a charity, we need support in lots of different ways:
TIME
Although we have two part-time youth workers, we need more than two people to run most sessions, especially our busy Friday nights. So we need volunteers to be part of those sessions, to play games, listen to the young people, and do a bit of washing-up. We ask for once a month as a minimum, so that it doesn’t become too time-consuming, but if you can spare more time, we’d be grateful. That’s only two hours a month. Less time than it takes to watch a film, and probably more enjoyable.

PEOPLE
We need volunteers to help at sessions, but it’s not just that. We also need Board Members to oversee the work of the charity. The Board meets six times a year and if necessary, some of those meetings can be online. If you’re not sure that hanging out with teenagers is for you, but you still want to play a part in supporting and helping young people in Braintree, you could be a Board Member. As a Christian charity, there is a requirement that Board members attend church on a regular basis.MONEY
Let’s be frank. All charities need money. We have to pay the rent and utilities, pay the staff, and have enough to run sessions with equipment that’s safe, and go on trips to exciting places such as Outdoor Adventure Centres. Grant funding provides much of our income, but that needs to be underpinned by consistent giving. If you can give on a monthly basis by standing order, or even a one-off gift, it is all welcome.
